INTEGRIS Achieves New Status as Accredited Chest Pain Center
Enid (Feb. 9, 2015) INTEGRIS Bass Baptist Health Center announces that it has received Chest Pain Center Accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC).
Hospitals that have received SCPC accreditation have achieved a higher level of expertise in dealing with patients who arrive with symptoms of a heart attack. They emphasize the importance of standardized diagnostic and treatment programs that provide more efficient and effective evaluation, as well as more appropriate and rapid treatment of patients with chest pain and other heart attack symptoms. They also promote a healthier lifestyle in an attempt to reduce the risk factors for heart attack.
Protocol-based medicine developed to reduce the time from onset of symptoms to diagnosis and treatment are part INTEGRIS Bass’s overall cardiac care service. Our state-of-the-art heart care encompasses the entire continuum of care for the acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patient and includes such focal points as dispatch, emergency medical services, emergency department, cath lab, quality assurance plan, cardiologists from the INTEGRIS Heart and Vascular Institute and our community outreach program.
“Obtaining this prestigious accreditation was a group effort,” said Eddie Herrman, President, INTEGRIS Bass Baptist Health Center. “This type of accreditation requires great partners. Our ER physicians with Emergency Medical Services Inc., local Life EMS, area EMS groups and key hospital departments have made the critical care for an ACS patient possible”.
