ENID, OK - Nearly 700 turkeys were handed out to caregivers and volunteers of INTEGRIS Bass Baptist Health Center on Thursday.
The annual Turkey Toss, now in its seventh year in Enid, is an INTEGRIS Health system-wide effort to reward and show appreciation to caregivers and their families for Thanksgiving.
Frozen turkeys were provided for anybody who works at INTEGRIS Bass in any capacity. Each person was given a “turkey coupon” to exchange for a turkey.
Kerri Johnson, INTEGRIS Bass Baptist Health Center senior HR business partner, is the on-site coordinator for the event. “Our leaders come to hand out turkeys to our caregivers from sun up to sun down each year on Turkey Toss Day, regardless of weather. It’s a long day that is fun and rewarding. Our caregivers look forward to this day each year. It is a great way for us to show how thankful we are for each of them and for what they do for our patients every day.”
A total of 673 turkeys were given out, and an additional 75 birds will be donated, as some caregivers opted to give their turkeys to Loaves & Fishes of Northwest Oklahoma to help local families in need this holiday season.
