A celebration of life service for Harold Woody Colvin, age 86, of Enid, will be 3:00 PM, Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Fairmont, OK with Reverend Mark Blakeman officiating. Services and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Harold was born in Bakersfield, California on March 2, 1938 to Gene and Maudie (Smith) Colvin, and passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Baptist Village in Enid. He started working in the oilfield in 1955 when he was 17, in Seminole, Oklahoma. He started as a floor hand on a drilling rig, and then a tool pusher, company man, drove a semi hauling salt water and crude oil, and retired as a pumper.
Harold married Sue Sutton in 1958 in Seminole, Oklahoma; from this marriage they had two children, Greg and Carey Colvin. He later married Carol Schneider in 1977, and from this marriage, they had one daughter, Heather Ferguson, and were married until her passing in 2004.
Harold was a devoted husband, brother, and friend, and was an amazing gardener; at one time he had around fifty peach trees in his backyard. He loved to go to Enid High Football games with his children Greg, and Heather. He loved going to the dog park and watching the dogs in the park. He loved going to the firework shows, and seeing Christmas lights with his family. He loved listening to country music, including Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Sr., George Jones, Dolly Parton, and Tammy Wynette.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents Gene and Maudie Colvin; wife Carol Colvin; brothers David Blevins, Stephen Colvin, and Charles Colvin; sisters, Betty Monica, and Wanda Trippel. He is survived by his children, Greg Colvin of Enid, Heather Ferguson and husband Roger of Enid and Carey Colvin of Tulsa; one grandson, Eric Colvin; siblings, sister Doris Burleson, sisters, Carol Blevins and Shirley Ruth, and brother Nathan Holmquist, and twin brothers Gene and Dean Colvin.
Memorial donations in Harold's name can be made to the funeral expenses with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory serving as custodian of the funds.
