The memorial service for Gregory "Miles" Hardage is 2:00PM Saturday, July 10, 2021 at University Place Christian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Gregory "Miles" Hardage was born to Bill Hardage Sr. and Linda S. Hardage in Dallas, Texas on August 14, 1962, and he passed away July 5, 2021, at Mercy Hospital, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after a long illness.
As a small boy, Miles' dad had a job opportunity, and his family was relocated to Chicago, Illinois. Miles and his older brother, Bill adapted quickly to the big city. Then Miles' dad was transferred by his company, Railway Express Agency, to Enid, Oklahoma. Miles and his older brother would go with his dad in performing the various duties of his job.
Miles spent many magical summers visiting his grandparents Lindley on their farm. His grandparents Lindley's farm was located on the South Canadian River. He was Huckleberry Finn. His Grandfather Hardage was Creek Indian. Miles was very proud of his Creek Tribe blood lineage. Both sets of grandparents lived in Oklahoma.
Miles married Margaret Anderson and to this union four boys were born - Christopher Miles, Joseph Evan, Charles Tyler, and Richard Adam. Before paternity leave was a thought, Miles took off work to help care for his newborn sons. Miles liked to get up and go. His family never knew which direction Miles might take the family on vacation.
Miles was an amazing husband. When Margaret became ill with her second kidney failure, Miles asked the nephrologist if he could be a donor for a kidney transplant. Unfortunately he was not compatible. The doctor told Miles the best way he could help Margaret was to get a state job with the best health insurance. Miles was a master carpenter. At the time of Margaret's kidney failure, Miles was employed at Phillips University as a co-physical plant director. He left this position, a job he really enjoyed, to get a state placement. Miles' wife Margaret had a successful transplant. Phillips University was sold to the State of Oklahoma for Northern Oklahoma College. Miles was asked to come back to Northern Oklahoma College; he did return. He created and completed numerous construction projects (major and minor). Miles also designed and completed the hard scape for his brother's memory garden (brick columns, garden gate, brick wall, etc.). The garden was very beautiful-right out of Architecture Digest.
Miles is survived by his wife, Margaret Rose (Anderson) Hardage; four sons Christopher, Joseph, Charles and Richard; mother Linda Hardage Ransom (Merlin); sister-in-law, "Bea" Beatrice Anderson; niece, Emily; great nephew Datron; sister-in-law Debra (Reim) Hardage-Martin; nephew Brandon Hardage (Katie); niece Ashlee Hardage Ellison; great nephews Zackery, Tabor, Hayden and Brock; great niece Khloe. His uncles, Elmer, Marlin, Tony, Harold, Franklin and Sam. His aunts, Gail, Becky, and many wonderful cousins.
Miles is preceded in death by his father, Bill Hardage Sr, his brother Bill Hardage Jr, his maternal grandparents Miles Clifford and Priscilla Lindley, his paternal grandparents Luke and Imogene Hardage, his mother and father-in-law, Anne C. Anderson and Richard T. Anderson; nephew (like a son) Joshua Robert Hammond.
