The Memorial Services celebrating and honoring the life of Glenda Lewis, 80, of Enid, will be held privately, at a later date. Complete cremation care and services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Glenda was born July 31, 1942, to Oscar and Frances Parnell in Cloud Chief, Oklahoma, and passed from this life October 26, 2022 in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised in Cloud Chief, Oklahoma, and attended Cordell Schools where she was Captain of the Basketball team. She married Orbin Downs in 1959 and from this union came three children. She married Bob Corley and from this union came two children. She later married Taylor Clark Lewis. Through the years she lived in Upland California, Purcell, Woodward, and finally made her home in Enid. She worked as a CNA for over thirty-four years at Elara Home Health and Gentiva Home Health.
She enjoyed drinking coffee while visiting with friends, shopping on QVC and HSN, giving gifts generously to all her family, listening to country radio and loved watching Cowboy church on tv.
She is survived by three children, Vicky Francis and husband Kenneth, of Newalla, Sheila Carton and husband David, of Newalla, Michael Downs and wife Sonja, of Midwest City; grandchildren, Adam, Brian, Amber, Magan, Makayla, Chasie, Nick and Anthony; twenty-two great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; Sisters Aline Kemp, of Oklahoma City and Neva Halek, of Fort Myers, Florida; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two daughter’s Tammy Weston, Terrie Rousey; Parents Oscar and Frances Parnell; Brothers Donald Parnell, Thomas Parnell and Eddie Parnell.
