A celebration of life memorial service for Glen Dale Smith, 72 of Enid, is pending. Viewing for Glen will be this Saturday 8:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday 12:00pm to 5:00pm at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Glen Dale Smith was born September 25, 1951 in Enid to Russell “Blackie” and Yvonne (Seal) Smith and passed away on September 12, 2024 in Edmond, Oklahoma.
He grew up in Enid and attended Enid Schools. When in high school, he worked for Coke Distributing. Glen was drafted into the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. Following his discharge, he returned to Enid. In 1975, he married Penny Wright in Enid. They had one son, Jesse Smith. Glen worked for Speed Star and was a heavy equipment operator for Great Lakes Carbon, now Oxbo. He never met a stranger and loved being around people. Glen loved his family, especially his grandsons. He enjoyed going to their sporting events and spending time with them. Glen enjoyed restoring and working on his cars. He was known for drinking his tea.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dwaine Smith; sister, Sharon Smith.
He is survived by his son and his wife, Jesse and Amber Smith; longtime companion, Karen Burton; three grandsons Garrett, Gage and Gavin; other relatives and friends.
