Funeral services for George Gayle Bland, 79 of Enid, will Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 1:30 pm in the First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Andrew Long officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 pm with a Masonic Service at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

George was born to Vernon C. and Claudia (White) Bland in Port Arthur, Texas on May 29, 1940 and died on July 16, 2019 in Enid, Oklahoma.

He graduated from High Island High School and then served in the United States Air Force, retiring after 23 years. On July 22, 1977, he married Donna Ostermann at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. They moved to Enid in 1984. George began employment at Northrup in 1984, serving as club manager. He later worked for the State of Oklahoma at NORCE as a direct care specialist/Med-Aide. George retired from NORCE after fourteen years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #80, the 32nd at Guthrie, and a member of Akdar Shrine. George was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed supporting the Texas Longhorns as well as the Dallas Cowboys, and loved spending time with his family and friends.

George is survived by his wife Donna, of the home; three daughters, Tanya (Tyler) Ellis of Enid, Sheila Bland and Kimberly (Philip) Seelinger, both of Little Rock, Arkansas; son and his wife, George Bland, Jr. (Cindy) of Flower Mound, Texas; one sister, Claudia Gentile of Beaurmont, Texas; ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Vernon.
