A Mass of Christian Burial for George Crispo, age 91, will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 13, 2016, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Irwin officiating. Recitation of the Rosary will be 7:00 PM Friday evening at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home, led by Rev. Aaron Foshee.
George was born to Lorenzo and Maria (Cavallo) Crispo on December 7, 1924, in Brooklyn, New York, and passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016, in Enid.
George grew up in Brooklyn, and then served in the U.S. Army during World War II, earning two bronze stars, Asiatic and Pacific Campaign, WWII Victory Medal, Marksman Badge with Rifle, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Republic of the Philippines Presidential Unit Citation Badge. On June 13, 1949, George married Michelina Curcio. He worked for the City of New York and Brown Brothers and Harriman Stock Bank. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Golden Age Club, and Widow & Widower. George enjoyed fishing, bowling, and being with family.
George is survived by his son Anthony “Tony” Crispo and wife Barbara of Enid; grandchildren: Tony Crispo, Angela and husband Daniel Doherty; sister Dominica Migliorini; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Michelina, granddaughter Cara Michele, parents, three brothers Charlie, Michael, and Tony, sister Helen, brother-in-laws, son-in-law, twin sister.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Daily Bread or St. Joseph School.
