GeNora Nikoe Lemorris Gilbert was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma September 11, 1980 to Yvonne Shaver Gilbert and Richard Gilbert. GeNora (aka Nora Nora) was a graduate of Batesville High School, Batesville, Arkansas. As a young adult, GeNora became employed by Head Start until her health failed her. She was a faithful member of the Church of the Firstborn.
GeNora and Terrance Osborne were married and were blessed with by the birth of their son De Juan Richard Osborne. GeNora made Enid her home where she and De Juan made lasting memories. Everyone knew that De Juan was the light of her life; she loved her “Baby” with her whole heart and never missed an opportunity to share his successes.
She had a passion for helping and celebrating others. You could count on receiving a birthday card or her remembering you on your special day. GeNora loved to organize activities, whether it was a Sisters picnic, children’s/senior’s gift baskets, wedding or baby showers or searching for recipes to cook for friends and family. She had a magnetic personality, with a big smile. She had a loving heart and was always willing to help.
The family of GeNora Gilbert would like to thank Shawna Burks for the exemplary care and concern that she has shown to GeNora and De Juan.
GeNora was preceded in death by her mother, Yvonne Delois Shaver; father, Richard Gilbert; paternal and maternal grandparents; and brother Robert Emory Broome. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving son, De Juan; former spouse Terrance Osborne; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at The Church of the First Born, 2017 S. Leona Mitchell Blvd, Enid, OK.
