January 31, 1953 - April 8, 2024
Garold (Gene) Eugene Williams was born on January 31, 1953 to Frances Marie (Zech) Williams and Glen Garold Williams and passed peacefully on April 8, 2024 at OU Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery following a funeral service at 11:00 am on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Anderson-Burris Chapel.
Gene was raised in Enid, OK. He graduated from Ames High School. Following graduation, he began working in the plumbing field. Shortly after he moved on to pursue a career in the HVAC industry. He spent many years working as an HVAC journey man for Kemph Munsinger. In 1997 he started Gene Williams Heat and Air. Gene made many friends throughout his career and always treated his customers like family.
If you knew Gene you knew that he loved a good joke and always had one ready to tell. Most times he was laughing before he even made it to the punchline. He loved to go fishing and wouldn’t miss a chance to watch his OSU Cowboys. In recent years he had taken up gardening and had mastered the skill of growing and caring for orchids. They were like his babies and he treated them as such. He most loved spending time with family and friends sharing stories and making memories.
Over the past few years Gene has shown us all what true strength, courage and fight looks like. His laughter, kindness and love will be missed by all who knew him.
Gene was preceded in death by his father, Glen Garold Williams, mother Frances Marie Williams, brother Glen Garold Williams Jr, son Shawn David Bean and grandson Haden James Bean. He is survived by his loving and devoted fiancé Margaret Clements of the home, son Dustin Kent Williams of OKC, daughter Jana Dickson and husband Eldon of Enid, son Randy Ford and wife Stephanie of Fayetteville, Arkansas, sister Carol Board of Batesville, Arkansas, brother Gary Misner and wife Joyce of Enid, numerous nieces, nephews and many loving friends.
