The season starts with One Man, Two Guvnors directed by Jason Maly. This fast-pace farce often breaks the fourth wall, as Francis enlists the aid of willing and unwilling audience members in his quest to serve two masters and finally get a good meal. Contains mild adult language and situations.
-
A Night of Murder and Addiction, directed by Tammy Berry, is the first of two fundraisers scheduled for October. Performed in the Turpin at Gaslight, this night of four one-act plays will help raise funds for Gaslight building project.
-
Wait Until Dark, directed by Blake Recknagel, is set in Greenwich Village, where a blind yet capable woman is imperiled by a trio of men in her own apartment. Susan discovers that her blindness just might be the key to her escape, but she and her tormentors must wait until dark to play out this classic thriller’s chilling conclusion.
-
Let’s do the Time Warp Again! Back for a second year, our ShadowCast Fundraiser has doubled the amount of performances. Sing and dance along to the cult-classic with the Gaslighters shadow cast. This fundraiser will help raise money for Gaslight building projects. Midnight performances October 18, 19, 25 and 26.
-
Directed by Ginny Shipley, Scrooge! The Musical is the musical retelling of the classic Dickens tale. From the tender “Live While You Can” to the raucous “Thank You Very Much,” the music invites the audience on Scrooge’s journey to enlightenment. The stage play is based on the 1970 movie musical starring the late Albert Finney and is fun for the whole family.
-
In addition to the traditional holiday-season show, Gaslight Theatre will host A Christmas Card to Enid. This free event at 7 p.m. on Dec. 21 features old and new holiday music with stories, laughter and Mrs. Clause, too.
-
Gaslight starts 2020 with the Gaslight Teens show The Giver, directed by Catina Sundvall. Adapted from the Newbery Award-winning book, Jonas’ world is perfect. Everything is under control and safe. There is no war or fear or pain. There are also no choices.
-
For dinner theatre, patrons will be treated to an uproarious comedy about two bumbling hunters who have never actually shot a duck but think they've shot an angel. Chased by tabloid press reporters, these two brothers attempt to hide in the swamp between runs to the local quick shop for beer. Duck Hunter Shoots Angel, directed by Carmen Ball, will be performed at the Stride Bank Center.
-
Children’s theatre features a silly retelling of a familiar story. This version has all the regular characters with a twist of vegetarian and proletarian rabble-rousing to give you a fresh and delightful experience. Jack and the Beanstalk is directed by Tammy Wilson.
-
Directed by Charlet Ringwald, No Exit follows two women and one man who find themselves waiting in a mysterious room. In this depiction of the afterlife, our three characters are being punished by being locked into a room together for eternity. Hell is other people, and there is no exit. Contains adult language and situations.
-
Gaslight’s 26th Annual Shakespeare in the Park features Twelfth Night. When Viola becomes separated from her twin brother during a shipwreck, she washes up in the land of Illyria. She disguises herself as a young man to enter into the service of the lovesick Duke Orsino. Trouble ensues when the object of the duke’s affection Lady Olivia, finds herself in love with the disguised Viola. As always, this play is free and performed in Government Springs Park.
-
Gaslight completes the season with the summer musical, Little Shop of Horrors directed by Mitch Lyon. Seymour works at a flower shop, attending a plant he has named Audrey II. However, this is no ordinary plant. It came from outer space and requires a diet of fresh blood. Seymour starts by giving his own blood, but, when people start dying, the plant wants more than a few drops. Contains mild profanity and sexual themes.
