Gary Lee Hofberger, 73, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at his home in Enid, Oklahoma. Gary was born April 2, 1945 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. In 1963, he graduated from Union High School in Weyauwega, Wisconsin.

Gary served in the United States Air Force. He met his wife of 51 years, Lesley Josephine Kraft, and they married in Appleton, Wisconsin.

For the majority of his career, Gary owned HomePro Appliance Repair and Carpet cleaning company. For 7 years, prior to his retirement, Gary and Lesley worked dang hard for little money, but loved every minute of owning and operating Kewaunee Village Camping Resort.

Gary was an entrepreneur and storyteller. He was adventurous and had a zest for life experiencing: skydiving, downhill, cross country and water skiing, parasailing, gliding, scuba diving, traveling, sailing and racing his 29’ Ranger.

He designed and built a trike motor cycle and recumbent bike. He spent many enjoyable years in his retirement building, rebuilding, buying and selling light sport airplanes. He also used his creative energy to weld metal art and write poetry.

Gary is survived by his wife, Lesley; daughters, Jamie Hofberger (Karol Gilman) and Kelly Walker (David); grandchildren, Latisha Trost, Clay Walker, and Blair Walker; great grandchildren, Braxton, Harper, and Hudson; brother, Allan Defaut; sisters, Beverly Maier and Sally Stone. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and C. Chester Hofberger.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Anderson Burris Funeral Home (www.andersonburris.com). Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am, followed by services and lunch. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love. Our family is grateful for their care and compassion.
