The funeral service for Garland Manning, age 73, will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 28, 2017, at First Missionary Baptist Church, with Dr. Edmond Rollins, pastor of Wannamaker Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday evening 6:00–7:30 PM at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Garland was born to Harold and Merle (Officer) Manning on January 12, 1944, in Enid, and passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017, in Enid.
Garland started driving a truck at age 15. He was a self-employed truck driver, also working for Groendyke Transport, Kansas Construction, Penske Logistics, Atwoods, and Walmart. In March 1964, Garland married Jacqueline L. Moye in Enid, and they were married for 52 years. He enjoyed landscaping, always helping family and friends. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church.
Garland is survived by his wife Jaqueline L. of the home; four daughters: Carman Noble (Steven V.) of Oceanside, California, Grace Manning and Kayerine Manning, both of Enid, and Melanie Manning of Boston, Massachusetts; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers: James Austin and Delbert Austin, both of Enid, and Marion Austin of Chickasha.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, one sister, and three brothers.
