ENID, OK - On Thursday, February 23 at the Central National Bank Center in Enid, OK, multi-Grammy Award-winner Bill Gaither hosted a spectacular evening of music, laughter and encouragement featuring the talent of the prestigious Gaither Vocal Band.

The Gaither Vocal Band has an all-star line-up including David Phelps, Wes Hampton, Adam Crabb, Todd Suttles, and Bill Gaither. They spent nearly three hours sharing timeless gospel classics, as well as many very inspiring favorites.

I wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by the talent and the laughter. The large audience inside the CNB Center was made up of all ages and backgrounds. Members of the crowd were given glowing lights that were held overhead throughout the evening. Each member of the singing group could easily have their own solo career.

The Gaither Vocal Band got its start in the early 1980s with four guys singing around a piano backstage before a Bill Gaither Trio concert. Gary McSpadden, Steve Green, Lee Young and Bill Gaither were just having fun, harmonizing on “Your First Day in Heaven” when Bill decided they should try out their new sound on a live audience that very night. The audience went wild… and that impromptu performance marked the beginning of an era.
