Tickets are now on sale for the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center’s 1890s-style hometown festival to be held in Humphrey Heritage Village on Saturday, May 17, 2014. Tickets are $5 per person for all the festivities or include the box dinner for $15 per person. The fun starts at 5 p.m. with carnival games, a cake walk and the sounds of the Enid Brass Town Band. Turkey Creek School will host a fried chicken box supper for the family to enjoy while watching Wild West tricks of skill and the friendly competition of popular pioneer day relay races.
At 7 p.m. the Prairie County Avengers will get toes tapping to the sound of fiddles and banjos as folks fill the floor for the ever popular called dances of the Virginia reel, patty-cake polka and sweetheart waltz. All ages are invited to participate in the dance and instruction will be provided.
The Heritage Center’s Frontier Festival is sponsored by a Union Pacific community grant. The grants are available in communities served by the railroad company to enhance the quality of life.

Tickets for the Frontier Festival are available at the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center located at 507 S. 4th Street in Enid, Oklahoma. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Advanced purchase of tickets is encouraged but tickets will also be available at the door the evening of the event.
