Funeral services for Fred LeRoy Postier, 75 of Sherman, Texas will be Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Brian Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Garber Cemetery, Garber, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Fred was born on November 11, 1941 in Vinita, Oklahoma to Clarence and Sena Johnson Postier and passed away on May 2, 2017 in Denison, Texas with his family by his side.
He graduated from Garber High School in 1960, and continued his education receiving his Bachelor of Education Degree at Northwestern State College, Alva in 1964. He married Faith Ann Woodruff on September 6, 1964 in Garber. Fred later received his Master of Education in 1970 and his Counseling Degree in 1972, both from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma. He spent 31 years teaching and coaching which included time at Laverne and Braman, Oklahoma and Denison, Texas, retiring in 1995.
He was preceded in death by his son, Steve LeRoy Postier; his parents; brothers, C J and Cecil Postier; nephew, Michael Postier.
Fred is survived by his wife, Faith Ann of the home; three brothers, Ervin and wife, Patsy of Tulsa, Ray Dean of Breckenridge, and John and wife, Margie of Enid; two sisters and their husbands, Ruth and Bill Jackson of Pond Creek and Clara Marie and Ray Hasselwander of Edmond; 23 nieces and nephews.
