ENID, OK - Open Door Church is bringing the Farmers To Families Food Box Program to Enid, Oklahoma on Wednesday, May 5 from 5:00 to 7:00pm. This event is 100% free and open to all families in Enid and the surrounding communities.
Through this program, USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is partnering with national, regional and local distributors, whose workforces have been significantly impacted by the closure of restaurants, hotels and other food service businesses, to purchase up to $6 billion in fresh produce, dairy and meat products from American producers of all sizes.
Distributors package these products into family-sized boxes, then transport them to food banks, community and faith-based organizations, and other non-profits serving Americans in need. Everyone that comes is eligible and will not be turned down.
The Enid distribution location will be Calvary Baptist Church, 831 E. Broadway Ave. The food boxes will contain meat, potatoes, vegetables and milk. Food boxes will be loaded into cars so families will not have to get out of their vehicles. Cars can line up and drive thru the parking lot.
Open Door Church is a three year old church plant in Enid. They currently meet on Sunday at 10:30am at Oklahoma Bible Academy, 5913 W Chestnut Ave.
