ENID, Okla. - Does your bucket list include taking a ride in a fighter jet? Unfortunately, that's something that a very limited number of people will ever get to do. The next best thing to flying in a real jet is to take a virtual flight in a simulator minus the risks.
-
The public is being invited to pilot an official F-4 Phantom simulator provided by SimAdventure Center in partnership with FlyEnid.com and the Enid Woodring Airport. On October 22 and 23 the simulator will be available for public flights at the airport overnight transit hanger. The flight cost is $60.
-
The 90 minute experience will give you the feeling of real flight and will include riders wearing a military flight suit and a functional anti-g suit. You will start the engines, take-off, and try a landing under the supervision of a flight instructor. Up to 4 guests may observe the flight. (G-suit is available up to a size large. Age limit is 12 and older)
-
September was the first opportunity for the public to be strapped to the ejection seat for the extended flight lesson to see what the Mach 2 Phantom could really do. The F-4J Phantom simulator was previously operated at the Kansas Aviation Museum in Wichita, Kansas.
-
In 2014 the simulator was transported to Enid, Oklahoma for a two year overhaul by owners, Justin and Nicole Messenger. Justin has been involved with numerous aircraft and simulator restorations for museums and films including the Ronald Regean Presidential Museum and the Tom Cruise movie Knight and Day. Nicole is a private pilot and received flight training from FlyEnid.

There are a limited number of simulator flight times available so be sure and reserve your time early. You can reserve a spot online HERE. Flights begin at 10:00am on Saturday and end on Sunday at 4:00pm. Register quickly, the last two dates sold out.
