ENID, OK - A fire broke out behind Applebee's Grill & Bar on Tuesday afternoon temporarily closing the restaurant while the cause of the blaze is under investigation.

The fire was located behind the building in an area with a cooler, trash dumpsters and a grease pit according to a past employee.

When the Enid Fire Department arrived on the scene the area was engulfed in thick black smoke. The firemen doused the fire and had it under control in a short period of time.

Local contractors were able to repair the damage enough to open the eatery again on Wednesday afternoon.
