ENID, Okla. - Earlier this morning around 12:05 A.M., the Enid Police Department received a hit and run call concerning an adult male who was riding his bicycle in 200 block of West Randolph and was struck by a white SUV. The vehicle left the scene after striking the male riding the bicycle. The male received minor injuries and refused medical treatment.

Approximately eight minutes later at 12:13 A.M., the police department received a second call concerning another pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle while walking along the north curb line with a friend in the 1500 block of West Elm. Witnesses said the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the accident and was described as a white SUV. Witnesses also saw the driver of the vehicle stop about a block away from the accident and exit their vehicle and close the hood and then get back into their vehicle and leave the area. The victim of the second accident was a 15 year old female, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Around 12:18 A.M., the police department received a call of a white SUV on fire in the 700 block of Overland Trail. Witnesses observed a white male wearing shorts, a white tank and no shoes run from the vehicle. Police determined the vehicle was a Nissan Xterra registering to Alynn Collins residing at 913 Sonora Trail. Police determined the vehicle had contained DNA evidence around the hood area which was believed to have come from the accident on west Elm.

Police made contact with Collins at 913 Sonora Trail and found him undressed in bed, as if he had been sleeping. Police noticed more DNA evidence on the bedding and took Collins into custody. Collins resisted police and they believed he was intoxicated at the time of their contact with him. Collins was arrested for “Leaving the scene of an Injury Accident” and “Leaving the scene of an Accident causing Bodily Harm or Death”. Collins was transported to the Garfield County Detention Center.

UPDATE: Kaylynn Marie Lovely, 15, was taken from this earth way too soon. Her family is devastated by their loss, Kaylynn was such an important person in so many lives. Her family needs help paying for the funeral. Please help them in any way you can. Go Fund Me account.

Fatality Accident Involving A Pedestrian
it may not have changed the outcome of these accidents, but More sidewalks would be cool, and parking on only one side of the street, lowered speed limit on residential streets, and also.. more street lights..? what the hell is wrong with this city? all of those things combined is a recipe for freaking disaster.
Senseless! So sad & i feel for the family thst had to receive the tragic news. God be with them all!
