Independence St., Enid, OK, United StatesEach year the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission plans and organizes a comprehensive tribute that promotes diversity, equality, and education consistent with Dr. King's dream, work, and legacy. The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission announces the following celebratory events: PRAYER BREAKFAST: Stride Bank Center Ballroom at 8:00am. PROGRAM: The celebratory program begins at 11:30am at the Stride Bank Center Ballroom. MARCH: The march is scheduled for 1:30pm. Those interested in attending should meet outside the Stride Bank Center.
Town Hall Meeting: Rezone Ward 2
First Missionary Baptist Church 467 East Owen K. Garriott Road, Enid, OK, United StatesWard 2 Commissioner Derwin Norwood will host a town hall meeting at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24 at First Missionary Baptist Church, located at 467 East Owen K. Garriott Road. He will be discussing affordable, attainable housing ideas and manufactured housing proposals. This is open to all residents of Enid. Each session will take place from 10-11 a.m. in the museum’s Research Center. On Saturday, January 25, Preston will host the second part of the lecture series with a presentation titled “The Progressive Era: 1900-1929.” The presentation will examine President Theodore Roosevelt’s policies and national transformations during this time and how these shifts were borne out in the Cherokee Outlet.
