Summer Chautauqua

UPDATE: Due to the extreme heat this evening, we are MOVING this evening's Chautauqua performance to the Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Enid Campus again!
The programming this evening will remain the same with Rebecca Marks- Jimmerson portraying Coretta Scott King at 7:30 p.m. and Mixed Company playing at 6:30.
There will be NO FOOD TRUCKS this evening!

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 will be highlighted in the annual Enid Chautauqua in the Park at the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center in the Humphrey Heritage Village. This year’s event will take place from Tuesday, June 11, to Saturday, June 15.
This year’s event is called “Lift Every Voice: 60 Years Since the Civil Rights Act.” It will feature the histories and perspectives of people who influenced the Civil Rights Movement through first-person scholarly presentations.
Daily workshops will be held inside the Village Church at 10:30 a.m. and noon. The live evening performances start with local entertainment at 6:30 p.m. and the scholarly presentations at 7:30 p.m. All events are free, and no registration is required. Star Fire Grill will be the on-site food truck each evening for those who would like to purchase food and refreshments.
Performances for 2024 include Doug Mishler as Earl Warren; Vanessa Adams-Harris as Rosa Parks; Rebecca Jimerson as Coretta Scott King; Leslie Goddard as Claudia “Lady Bird” Johnson; and Jim Armstead as Thurgood Marshall.
