Evalyn Myrle Ashcraft Thompson, was born in Jet, Oklahoma on January 23, 1925, to Earnest Roy and Bothilda Myrle (Broom) Ashcraft. She went home to be greeted by the Lord on Friday July 8, 2016 in Enid.

She graduated from Cleo Springs High School in 1943. She married Denzil Roy Thompson at Cherokee, Oklahoma on March 21, 1945. To this union was born four children.

During their marriage, Denzil served in the United States Air Force, which took them to many locations around the United States, England, Vietnam, Aleutian Islands, and the Philippines. After Denzil’s retirement in 1972, they returned to Enid, Oklahoma where Evalyn began working at Vance Air Force Base and remained there until 1990 when she retired at the age of 65.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Denzil, her parents, her oldest son Dale, her brothers Leonard and Ernest Ashcraft and sister Ann Koehn. Left behind to morn her loss is James and Christy Thompson, Debora Thompson and Charles Thompson, all of Enid, ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She is also survived by one Brother Leo Ashcraft of Mount Vernon, TX.

A celebration of Evalyn’s life will be 1:00 PM, Monday, July 11, 2016, at Central Assembly of God Church . Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Central Assembly of God.
