Enid, OK - Eskimo Joe's has returned to Enid for the holiday season! They are back at Willow Plaza, in the old Golf USA store by Jumbo Foods. The temporary store offers items sold in the Stillwater store, including T-shirts, sweat shirts, jackets and night shirts. They are also selling their fun holiday designs. They will be open through the end of December.

Stan Clark and Steve File opened Eskimo Joe's bar in July of 1975 in Stillwater and immediately started selling T-shirts with the company logo. Originally, Eskimo Joe's was only a bar, but when the drinking age was raised from 18 to 21 in 1984, the business became a restaurant as well. The name came from the desire to express that Eskimo Joe's had the coldest beer in town.

Eskimo Joe's is now famous for its branded merchandise. The Eskimo Joe logo, featuring the smiling cartoon Eskimo Joe and his slobbering canine friend Buffy, was created in 1975 by a freshman art student at OSU, Bill Thompson while he sat in the bar. Stan reports that he created it with a marker and a large sketch pad on the first try.
