ENID, OK - Enid Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of new agriculture education program educator, Mark Hager. His duties will officially begin July 1.
"Enid High School is thrilled to announce the addition of Mr. Hager to our esteemed faculty as our new agriculture education teacher, ushering in an exciting era for our students,” said Dr. Angela Rhoades, Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education. “With his wealth of knowledge and experience, Mr. Hager is set to spearhead the development of a dynamic new program aimed at cultivating leadership and FFA skills that will resonate for a lifetime. We eagerly anticipate the impact his expertise will have on shaping the future of our students and the agricultural community at large."
Hager comes highly recommended from Ingalls High School in Ingalls, Kansas where he is the current agriculture education instructor. Prior to that he was the Maintenance and Transportation Director and Agriculture Education Instructor for Herington, KS schools, Agriculture Instructor and Future Farmers of America (FFA) advisor at Ness City, KS USD, a classroom teacher at Dighton, KS USD, and agriculture teacher and FFA advisor in Wakita, OK. He has completed a total of 17 years in public education.
Hager earned his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Education at Oklahoma Panhandle State University and his Masters in Career and Technical Education as well as Education Leadership from Pittsburg State. He holds Oklahoma certification in secondary and elementary administration and agricultural education.
“I’m so excited to be returning to Enid to help build what I know will be an amazing program,” said Hager. “I have family in Enid and my mom and mother-in-law are graduates of Enid High. My family and I are thrilled to come home.”
EPS established the agriculture education program after Enid High students expressed an interest. EPS administration began eagerly searching for the perfect candidate to kick off the program after the Enid Board of Education approved the implementation of the program in December 2023. Agriculture education classes will be available for students to enroll in at the beginning of the 2024-25 school year.
Hager is married to Darla, a fellow educator, and they have five children and are the proud grandparents of one grandson.
