ENID, OK - How many of you lately have you seen a driver rushing to beat the red light and nearly cause a collision? The Enid Police Department has noticed too. Red light violations at intersections is a leading cause of collisions in our city.
Traffic officers have been out in force recently, specifically targeting this problem. They started Wednesday and quickly issued 16 citations for red light violations. That number grew to 31 by Thursday afternoon and that was only for the Van Buren and Garriott intersection.
They plan to continue this enforcement at other high traffic intersections in hopes of reducing the number of crashes. No matter where you’re going or how late you are, the point is to #arrivealive.
