ENID, Okla. - Local residents showcased their talent at the first annual Enid's Got Talent Show on Friday, November 18 at in the Central National Bank Center Grand Ballroom. The event was presented by Eventures by Aimee, an event planning company from Kiowa, KS.

The variety show contest was co-hosted by Mitch & Angela Lyons. The contest was open to any variety act of any kind, from any age group or soloist that was in the amateur category. Preliminary auditions were held November 5 where finalists were chosen from the contestants to perform at this red carpet night.

Contestants were encouraged to invite family, friends and neighbors as each ticket holder received a ballot with admission and had the opportunity to vote for the contestant of their choice. The contestant with the largest fan base was dubbed the overall winner. A percentage of the proceeds earned go to benefit Bennie's Barn.

There was also a second chance opportunity to win the judges choice award which was voted on by a panel of four judges. The judges spent time asking each contestants questions and gave encouraging critiques for each performance. They voted at the end of the show for their overall winner. Judges were Leslie Newel, Joey Simmon, Christianne Chase and Christopher Sneed.

The talent show was loaded with young contestants and a couple of adult participants. The talent on hand ranged from singing and dancing to playing the ukulele and twirling a baton. There was even a contestant that raced the clock while solving three Rubik's Cubes in a row.

The grand prize winner was Aspen Stephens doing a twirling routine with multiple batons and an assortment of spins and baton tosses. Stephens is a 6th grader at Pioneer Pleasant-Vale Elementary School in Enid. She also attends Emmanuel Enid Baptist. She was awarded a large $1,000 check along with the real cash.

The judges choice award and $100 went to Chaney Tucker doing a lyrical dance that used motion to interpret the music and express her emotions. Tucker is a competitive dancer at Hype Dance Productions. She loves to choreograph and hopes to be a dance teacher someday. She even choreographed her own dance.

Other talented individuals included Francisco Ramirez (singer), Jersey Garrett (ukulele/singer), Michael Donaldson (Rubik's Cube solver), Kimberly Henderson (singer), Faith Crum (guitar/singer),
Holly Boeckman (guitar/singer), Emma Rose (guitar/singer) and Ron Rohr (comedian/singer).
