ENID, OK - Enid Board of Education members welcomed a new board member at Monday night’s meeting: Christopher Gerber, who will represent Office 3.
-
Board members accepted applications for the open position, and then selected Gerber for appointment. He will complete the unexpired term of board member Trent Misak, who resigned last month.
-
“We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Gerber to the board,” board president Torry Turnbow said. “He shares our commitment to provide students with the best educational opportunities possible, and we look forward to working him as our district continues its important mission.”
-
Gerber currently serves as the Northern Oklahoma College Coordinator of Resident Life and Student Activities, as well as the NOC assistant basketball coach. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas and his master’s degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He joined the NOC coaching staff in 2017.
-
He previously worked for the Kansas City Royals and GTM Sportswear.
-
Gerber said he comes from a family of educators, and that he has a deep appreciation for the importance of public education.
-
“I am excited to serve the Enid community as a member of the Enid Board of Education,” Gerber said. “This is a great opportunity for me to be an advocate for students and to help ensure they are prepared for a successful future. I’m looking forward to working with the rest of the board, as well as the school staff.”
