ENID, OK - The Enid High School and Middle School pom teams will host a State Showcase at Prairie View Elementary on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 6 pm in the gym. This event is open to students, families and community members who want to send off the state team dancers before they participate in the official state championship, the Oklahoma State Dance Team competition on December 8-9 at Oklahoma City University.

The EHS team is the defending State Jazz Champion and Academic State Champion.

EHS students Kaylee Percival, Lauren Jackson and Piper Tucker qualified as soloists, and Meris Miller/Piper Tucker qualified with a small ensemble at the state qualifier at Edison High School in Tulsa on November 11. Only the top three small ensembles and the top 15% of soloists qualified to compete at state. In addition, the EHS and EMS pom state teams will be taking group dances to the competition.

Enid High School also boasts one All-State Dance Team member, Kalynn Schwandt, and an All-Region Dance Team member, Kaylee Percival. Schwandt is one of a handful of dancers across the state to qualify for the All-State Dance Team and will be performing at the state competition.

The high school team is coached by Mykala Irsik, and the middle school team is coached by Jasmyn Hammer.
