Enid named one of “South’s Surprising Recreational Havens For Groups” by magazine
The city of Enid will be recognized by ConventionSouth Magazine as one of the 2015 “South’s Surprising Recreational Havens for Groups” in its upcoming November issue.
ConventionSouth Magazine is circulated to more than 18,000 meeting professionals located across the country that book meetings held within the South. Its editor, Marlane Bundock, said in a press release, “Meeting Planners and event organizers from across the country look for unique destinations in the South to hold their meetings and events, and ConventionSouth’s 2015 list of the ‘South’s Surprising Recreational Havens For Groups’ provides these planners with interesting insight on some of the South’s most unique cities for recreational fun.”
The press release went on to say ConventionSouth’s editorial team researched communities throughout the South and selected Enid and three other cities based on several factors, including their unique and diverse recreational offerings, attractions, meeting venues and accommodations for groups. For Enid, the press release states, “This north Oklahoma city offers 30-plus parks, including lakes, baseball fields and more.”
“Being recognized in ConventionSouth Magazine puts Enid in front of thousands of meeting planners who otherwise may have not heard of Enid,” Visit Enid director Marcy Jarrett said. “By combining Enid Event Center and Convention Hall with a diverse choice of nearby restaurants and shopping, our downtown Art Walk and the city parks and Trail System, Enid offers meeting planners many options for a memorable event.”
The other areas named to the ConventionSouth list are Alexandria, La., Howard County, Md., and Rutherford County, Tenn.
