The Graveside services celebrating and honoring the life of Emma Jennings, 95, of Enid, will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday July 8, 2021 in the Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor John Doffer officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Emma was born March 21, 1926 to William D. Boyd Sr. and Della E. (Lewis) Boyd in Poolville, Texas and passed from this life July 1, 2021 in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised and educated in Ft. Worth, Texas. She married Albert L. Jennings May 4, 1944 in Amarillo, Texas, from this union came two children Teresa and Terry. The family moved several times between Texas and Oklahoma and settled in Enid, Oklahoma in 1979. She and her husband did mission work for Builders for Christ and traveled throughout the United States helping churches. In later years she volunteered eight years for the Southern Baptist Convention and six years at Enid Inner City Ministries. She left a rich Christian legacy in her family. She loved to cook, work ceramics, and save family sentimental keepsakes.
She is survived by her children Teresa Parks and husband Russell, of Perry and Terry Wayne Jennings and wife Susan, of Temple, Texas; five grandchildren, Randy and wife Delena, Neil and wife Sharon, Steven, Ron and wife Scarlet, and Jennifer and husband Quinton; her beloved great grandchildren; and Art Boyd, of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Jennings, her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Memorials in her honor may be given to the North American Mission Board with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
