Celebration of life service for Ellis Eugene Williams will be 10:00 am Friday May 25, 2018 at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jack Weston officiating. Graveside Services and Burial will be held at Hopewell Cemetery near Buffalo, Oklahoma at 3 PM. Visitation with family will be from 5-6 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Ellis was born in 1936 in Buffalo. Ellis left this world on Friday night May 18, 2018 peacefully in his home in Enid at the age of 82. Ellis attended a one room schoolhouse for 6 years, then went to Selman High School where he graduated in 1954. Ellis then attended college at Northwestern OSU in Alva and worked summer harvest until he was drafted in 1958 into the Army. He served 2 years before receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1960 to the Army Reserve. While in the Army, Ellis was a communication specialist and an expert rifleman. After the Army he moved to Illinois to work for United Airlines as a Radio Mechanic. Later in life, Ellis moved back to Oklahoma and began his career as a Rural Mail Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service serving Woods, Grant, and Garfield Counties. He retired from the Postal Service after 34 years.

Ellis was a member of the Moose Lodge and loved supporting their charities, he loved polka dancing and calling bingo. He was an avid gardener and loved sharing his crops with the community. He was a past Governor and held many other offices in the Moose Lodge through the years and received the honored Pilgrim Degree of Merit status.

Ellis is survived by his Special friend Irene Green; sister, Theda Miller and special friend Carl Hayes; brothers, Dallas Williams and wife Janice; Les Williams and wife Connie; many very special nieces and nephews; and many loved great nieces and nephews.

Ellis was preceded in death by his wife Agnes; parents Carl and Florence Williams; and infant baby sister Lois Mae.
