A Celebration of Life for Ellen Jean Meier, age 82, of Garber will be 10 am Monday, July 23, 2018 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Garber with Rev. Kenneth Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Garber Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Ellen was born February 24, 1936 in Breckinridge, OK to Otto and Minnie Heitfeld Sattelmeier and passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Golden Oaks Retirement Village in Enid. She attended and graduated from Garber High School in 1953. She married ElRoy Meier on May 19, 1953 and they made their home in Enid. She worked as a secretary at the Enid State School for 24 years. She also enjoyed farming with her husband on their family farm. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Garber and the LWML.

Ellen is survived by her two daughters, Denise Moritz and husband Ron, of Enid; Diane Worthey, of Kaw City, OK; two sons, Dennis Meier of McAlester, OK; and Dan Meier and wife Shannon of Fort Bridger, WY. She also leaves five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, and a sister Avis Garrett of OKC, OK, and several other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband ElRoy, a sister Loyce Petersen, brothers, Bruce and Dale Sattelmeier, and son in law Mike Worthey.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Garber with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
