Jim and Betty were married on July 24, 1947 in St Louis. They lived and worked there for two years before moving to Enid where he started his 40-year medical career. They were members of the First Baptist Church. Betty did volunteer work at Bass Hospital, YWCA, Junior Welfare, Medical Auxiliary, PEO, and other community organizations while raising four active children.

Betty enjoyed family immensely, also wonderful friends, traveling, and playing bridge. Betty will be remembered for her ready smile and quick wit. Her attitude toward others was gracious, kind and respectful. She was the loving heart of our family.
