NORMAN, OK - Members of the Enid High School Speech & Drama Team did the unthinkable, they swept an entire 6A State event 1st-4th place in Norman, Oklahoma today! Kalina Collins is the 6A State Champ for Monologue for the second year in a row, and also made it to finals with Baylee Fitzgerald for Dramatic Duet.

The other students making up the top four spots were Carol Jarrett, Derek Wheeler and Brigitte Goulart. The outstanding coach of these teens is Linda Outhier.

A competitive Monologue is one humorous and one dramatic piece. It must have intro, blocking and may use one chair. Pieces are memorized with a six minute time limit.

Students test their skills by competing in interscholastic speech tournaments. The general purpose of such contests is to foster high performance standards, nurture aesthetic development, and reinforce the functions of speech in our society.
