ENID, OK - The most important ingredients in a successful festival are the people and the weather. Fortunately for the Downtown Arts Festival and Red Brick Road Food Truck Festival both cooperated during Saturday's festivities.
-
Temperatures were in the 70's with a slight breeze and plenty of sunshine. Thousands of hungry, art loving attendees showed up to support the artists, the food trucks and the musicians. The event was coordinated by Tammy Wilson at The Enid Event Company.
-
The Downtown Arts Festival continues to grow each year and although it could have used a few more artists, the brick road was just about maxed out on available space. Food trucks lined both sides of E. Maple while artists tents filled the center.
-
Musicians, ranging from solo artists to bands, played throughout the day at the east end of the festival while painters, photographers and other artists displayed and sold their artwork down the middle of the brick road.
-
Leonardo's Adventure Quest was open to the south and even offered an hour of free play for festival guests. Creative Arts Enid was open on the north with a steady flow of adults and children painting on canvases and pottery.
-
The Breeze, an outdoor party venue owned by Mike Klemme, was open and available for guests to sit and enjoy their food and conversation. Pope Distributing was on hand selling cold beer at the entrance of the outdoor seating area.
-
Food was plentiful and included burgers, barbecue, Indian tacos, prime rib sandwiches, nachos, corn dogs, kettle corn, flavored ice, ice cream, treats and more! There was a coffee stand with assorted fluffy drinks and good old iced tea.
-
Some of the featured artists this year included Potter Laura Stewart of Tulsa and Metal Artist Shane Glover of Stillwater. Another artist traveled from Ada while many were from closer to home. Photographers Mike Klemme and Mike Louthan had prints of their work on display.

The mission of the Downtown Arts Festival is to celebrate the arts with presentations of diverse, high-quality visual art. The essence of this festival is the enrichment and education of the audience, grounded in personal interaction between artist and audience. Learn more here.
