An exciting prophecy was fulfilled for Donna Marie Hoisington at 11:17 PM on Wednesday,
May 25, 2023. Jesus, who had gone to prepare a place in heaven for her, called her to join him.
He had been living in her heart, and now she has joined him in her eternal home.

Donna Marie Hoisington was born into this life on September 23, 1942, in Grand Prairie, Texas
to Donel E. and Clara Henrietta Willson. She grew up on the family farm near Drummond,
Oklahoma and graduated from Drummond High School in 1960. On May 28, 1960, she married
Kenneth Ray Hoisington of Ames, Oklahoma. They would live in Enid, Oklahoma for a time,
later to settle and make their home outside of Ames, Oklahoma where they would operate a farm.

In the early days, they ran a custom harvesting operation which took them to various wheat fields
throughout the mid-west. As the wife of a farmer, Donna kept busy assisting with whatever
needed to be done. From harvesting the wheat fields to delivering baby pigs, she worked by
Kenneth’s side. She could also be found cooking hot meals for the harvest crew (with a baby on
her hip), making parts runs for unexpected farm equipment repairs, and even driving a wheat
truck while in labor. For several years in the eighties, she drove an Ames school bus for Vo-Tech
and, in later years, turned her sights to a career in law, serving as a legal secretary in Fairview.

As an only child, she desired a large family, and her pride and joy were her five children. She
spent a great deal of time at her children’s activities: class parties, choir concerts, livestock
shows, and sporting events. She worked alongside her children with their various 4-H projects,
and even served as leader of the local 4-H chapter for a time. She was a decorated tournament
and league bowler, animal lover, gardener, and patient puzzler. Donna was a talented artist
creating beautiful sketches and oil paintings. She had a beautiful soprano voice and sang in the
choir at Ames First Baptist Church where she was a member. She and Kenneth celebrated nearly
50 years of marriage, a tremendous sense of joy and accomplishment for her, before his passing
in 2009. In 2010, she returned to Texas to live with family for a few years then came back to
Oklahoma to live in Cushing before making her final move back to her home state in 2020 to
reside in Granbury, Texas. She was very proud of her five children: Shelly Sherrod and Audie of
Granbury, Texas; Robert Hoisington of Edmond; Debra Davenport and Keven of Silver City,
Oklahoma; Kendra Hensley and Tim of Whitney, Texas; and Donnie Hoisington and Alysha of
Yukon, Oklahoma. She was blessed with eight wonderful grandchildren: Sharayah Colter and
Scott, Skyler Sherrod and Traci, Bailey Davenport, Emma Hoisington, Braylen Davenport,
Quentin Hensley, Brentlee Davenport, and Rylann Hensley; four great-grandchildren: Sheridan,
Samuel, Andi, and Ellory; and her beloved puppy, Buddy Holly. In recent days, she searched
scripture, enjoyed worship and sermons, and attended family events. She knew where her eternal
home would be, and she was packed and ready.

Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Clara Henrietta Willson, father Donel E. Willson,
and husband Kenneth Ray Hoisington.
