A funeral service for Donna Jo Samples, age 68, will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 2, 2016, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Brian Meyer officiating.
Donna was born to William and Kathryn (Grisson) Ditton on May 13, 1947 in Mitchell, Indiana, and passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016, in Enid.
Donna went to work at age 17 working as a secretary. She later worked for a cleaning company. In 1991, she married James “J.T.” Samples in Indiana. They moved to Enid in 2010, and she was a caregiver for elderly people. Donna was a cancer survivor, and liked fishing and watching her grandsons race.
She is survived by husband J.T., children: Terry (David) Gerhard, Julie (John) Mann, Billy Lawton, and Frank Lawton III, all of Enid, and Candy (Kenny) King of Indianapolis, Indiana; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Brenda Hallock, Janet Tiller, and Nancy Rottinghause.
