Dondevere "Don" Herman Herth

Tuesday, July 12th, 1938 - Thursday, June 20th, 2024

A Celebration of Life for Dondevere “Don” Herman Herth, age 85, of Enid, will be 10:00 am, Monday, June 24, 2024 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastor David Reber, Jr., and Pastor Kenneth Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Don was born July 12, 1938, in Enid, to Herman and Iola (Nehring) Herth, and passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024, in Enid.

He grew up in the Fairmont area, and attended Fairmont Lutheran School, graduating from Garber High School in 1956. He married Betty Marie Kroll on December 21, 1957 at Breckenridge Lutheran Church. After high school, he worked for the Soil Conservation Service, Pillsbury, Vance Air Force Base, Bank Lumber Company, Union Equity, Champlin Refinery, and eventually retired from Farmland Nitrogen Plant. After retirement he worked part-time at Johnston Elevator. Don was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

He was a member of Herschel Timm’s Country Pride Band for “umpteen” years, and he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and was meticulous in his yard work. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law Otto and Marie Kroll; brothers-in-law, Don Kroll and Ray Dean Kroll; and sister-in-law, Linda Kroll. He is survived by his wife of 66 ½ years, Betty Herth, of the home in Enid; three children, son, Terry and wife Lorie, of Texas; daughters, Donolyn Merchant and husband Tom, of Choctaw, OK; Kristy Pendleton and husband Scott, of Enid; three grandsons, Eric Walton, Shane Pendleton and wife Olivia, Jacob Herth, and one granddaughter, Lexie Pendleton. Four great-granddaughters also survive him; Zoe and Sadie Walton, and Willa and Elsie Pendleton, as well as a brother, Martin Herth and wife Gail, of Oklahoma City; brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Barbara Kroll; sister-in-law Deborah Kroll, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many friends.

Memorial contributions in Don’s name may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
