Funeral services for Donald Gene Widener, 72, Ponca City resident, will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the New Hope Christian Fellowship Church (401 S. Lincoln Ponca City) with Pastor Jack Adams officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.
Donald was born on June 16, 1943 in Winfield, Kansas, the son of Eddie and Amy Dotie Widener, and passed away peacefully on June 10, 2016 in Tulsa. He was raised in Winfield where he married Fredia Lois Gooch. She passed to the light on March 17, 2013. Donald farmed in the Ponca City Area for many years and was affiliated with New Hope Christian Fellowship Church.
Survivors include, daughter, Milissa Sober of the residence; sons, Donald, II of Ponca City and Joe Widener of Ponca City; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Donald was preceded in passing by his parents, grandson, Jason Lee Lawson, great-grandson, Colten Widener, and son-in-law, Kevin Leroy Lawson.
