The services celebrating and honoring the life of Donald Hyde, 54, of Enid will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday December 30, 2019 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Gary Miller officiating. Services and complete cremation care are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Don was born on November 18, 1965 to Bill Wayne and Marcella Ake Hyde in Enid, Oklahoma and passed from this life on December 22, 2019 at his home with his family by his side.

He was raised and educated in Houston, Texas graduating from Clearlake High School in 1985. He then enlisted in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge he worked as a federal security officer for NASA for several years. In 2003 he returned to Enid to be near family and continued his work in security working for private security companies. He then moved to Woodward working in oil field security and also owned and operated three comic book and anima collectable stores, Beetle comics, The Outer Limits comics and later Laughing Dragan Comics. He then returned to Enid and began his career working for Brown-Cummings Funeral Home where he worked as a family service and funeral attendant for many years. Don had a kind heart and was always willing to help others. He continued to be an avid comic books collector and had an impressive figurine collection. He was also a movie aficionado. He was a lifelong learner graduating from NOC Enid with a degree in Criminal Justice in 2019. He was maybe before all else an animal and loved his dogs as family.

He is survived by his wife; Carol Hyde of the home, children; Natasha, Elizabeth, Alex, and William, mother; Marcella Hyde, sister; Christy Kerr, and husband Leonard, a host of grandchildren and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Wayne Hyde.

Memorials in his name may be made to the Enid SPCA with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
