Obituary for Don Elden Dees
Memorial Services for Don Dees will be Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Garriott Rd Church of Christ in Enid, OK with Ray Rose officiating. Don was born on December 3, 1943 in Sayre, OK to Arlene and Betty Dees and passed away in Fairview, OK on June 6, 2022.
Don was the oldest of five sons. He was a graduate of Borger High School in Borger, TX. Don held many jobs at a very early age to help support his family. These jobs ranged from restaurants to car body shops and many things in between. Immediately following graduation, he began a lifelong career in agriculture including farming, grain handling and management. Over the years he managed numerous grain facilities for Perryton Equity Exchange, Continental Grain Company and Cargill Commodities. He finished his career retiring from Johnston Grain in Enid, OK. He was a hard worker and very creative and innovative in developing production systems and writing software programs to organize information accurately. Don was very witty and shared his humor with all he encountered over his lifetime.
Don is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Diane, who passed away in 2020.
Don is survived by children Steve Dees, Michelle Dees, Kenya Olson and husband Clint, Dacia Redgate and husband Ryan, and Rance Meier. Eight grandchildren Melinda Ammerman, Michael Van Auken, Nicholas Van Auken, J.D. Van Auken, Curan Olson and wife Savannah, Casen Olson, Traben Redgate, Tayen Redgate and 12 great-grandchildren. Brothers Randy Dees and wife Barbara, Waymon Dees and wife Gail, Monty Dees and wife Cathie, and Bryant Dees and wife Janie. Brother in law, Larry McClure and wife Kathy, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
