The services celebrating and honoring the life of Dolores Critchlow, 88, of Enid will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday September 2, 2021, in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Pastor David Reber Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Dolores was born Dolores Lea Lamle on November 7, 1932, in Okeene, Okla., to Otto and Hulda Lamle. She was the third child of six children. They moved to Watonga, Okla., in the early 1940’s after her father purchased the family farm. She graduated from Watonga High School on May 17, 1951. She moved to Enid where she worked several different jobs, including working at a bank, a dime store and Gold Spot Dairy. Goldspot is where she was introduced to her future husband by his father. Doran and Dolores hit it off and were married on June 6, 1954, in Watonga, Okla. From that union came three children, Terry, Darlene and Pamela. She then became a full-time wife and mother. They lived in Ames until 1970, when Doran, who worked for Groendyke Transport, was transferred to Irving, TX, where she babysat and cared for children. That is where they remained until his retirement in 1996 then moved back to Enid. Dolores loved going to church on Sundays, working in the yard and tending to her flowers and plants. She loved seek n find puzzle books and jigsaw puzzles. She loved talking to people and always had a smile to share. She will be missed dearly by family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Doran Critchlow; son, Terry Critchlow; father, Otto Lamle; mother, Hulda Koch Lamle; sister, Willene Lamle Smith; sister, Geneva Lamle Bradford; brother, Walter Lamle; brother, Harold Lamle; brother, Nathan Lamle.
She is survived by her daughter Darlene Critchlow of Enid, OK; daughter Pamela Critchlow of Irving, TX; granddaughter Amy Critchlow of Waverly, TN; grandson Andrew Critchlow of Waverly, TN; sister-in-law Penny Lamle of Watonga, OK; sister-in-law Ann Critchlow of Farmington, NM; and lots of nieces and nephews.
