ENID, Okla. - Are you being affected by diabetes or pre-diabetes? Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative’s (OHAI) Northwest Center of Healthy Aging will be providing the Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP) for those dealing with the disease and/or their caregivers.

Free classes will be held on Tuesdays for a six week program, running March 7th through April 11th. Classes will begin at 10:00am and end at 12:00pm at the Northwest Center of Healthy Aging at 302 N Independence, Suite 701 in Enid. All classes are free. The Donald W. Reynolds Foundation provides a grant for the funding.

DEEP helps you understand the affects of diabetes on your body and teaches you how to make sense of your blood sugar numbers. The diabetes self-management education program gives you the opportunity to meet others who have diabetes where you will have fun learning in a small group through games, activities and support conversations.

OHAI, a program of the Donald W. Reynolds Department of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Oklahoma provides the instructors. OHAI serves all individuals who are eligible for its programs without regard to race, national origin, ancestry, color, religion, sex, age or disability.
