Dennis P. Roberts was born on September 5, 1962, to Preston Mills Roberts and Mary Beth (Hane) Roberts Witt, and died on Saturday, October 15, 2022. Dennis was raised on a family farm Southwest of Waukomis, Oklahoma. He graduated Waukomis High in 1980. He was active in 4-H and FFA during this time. He earned a State FFA Degree and was later presented with an Honorary Chapter Degree from the Waukomis FFA. During youth, he and friends enjoyed a wide variety of activities including, sports, hunting & fishing, lake outings, and numerous evenings in the home basement playing pool.
After two years in college at NWOSU, he transferred to Oklahoma State University where he earned a B.S. in Agricultural Education. During college, he was able to continue and grow the family farm. For the next several years, his operation included crops, stockers, cow/calves and horses. Along the way, he would substitute teach for various schools, primarily in Agricultural Education. He chose to teach fulltime at Timberlake, but later returned to the farm, where his operation became more focused on cow/calf production.
The community grew to know Dennis as a caring, giving soul. If the opportunity arose, he would share scriptures with individuals. He was a lifetime member of the Waukomis Methodist Church and frequently attended the Enid First Assembly of God. He would quietly contribute funds or items to people that he thought could use them. He would go visit those that he thought might need a friendly conversation. There are numerous other “that was Dennis” memories the community will share. This spirit of sharing continued at his death, as he elected to be an organ donor. His farm equipment and vehicles were far from the newest or shiniest, but his heart was golden.
Dennis is survived by his brother Don Roberts, wife Krista Roberts, daughter Kelsey Roberts, all of Enid; stepmother Vicki Roberts of Enid, and daughter Tiffany Vinci, of Florida; and close friend Ellen Roberts of Enid.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Waukomis Fire Department with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
