Delyne McCafferty

February 14, 1954 - July 20, 2024

The funeral services for Delyne McCafferty, 70 year-old Fairmont resident will be 1:00PM Saturday, July 27, 2024 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Collett Cemetery near Fairmont.

Delyne was born February 14, 1954 in Fairview to Kenneth and Maxine (Patterson) Sholtess and died Saturday, July 20, 2024 in her home in Fairmont surrounded by her family. She attended Fairview schools and graduated with the class of 1972. On September 22, 1973 she married Buss McCafferty in the Midway Assembly of God Church in Fairview. The couple made their home in Enid where Delyne was the first female to obtain her EMT in Enid in 1980.

The family moved to Fairmont in 1983. In 1993, she graduated from nursing school and started her career as an ICU nurse at St. Mary's Hospital. She then taught the nursing program until ill health forced her retirement in 2011. She also worked at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. She created the SANE program in conjunction with the Enid YWCA. She was listed in Strathmare's Who's Who in 2004. She spent her life helping others.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing card games and travling with Buss. Mostly she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Buss of the home, her daughter Tracy McCafferty of Fairmont and daughter Michelle Featherstone and husband Randy of Edmond. three grandchildren; Hunter and Jacob Bradford and Eryn Featherstone and one brother, Doyl Sholtess.

She was preceded in death by her parents

Memorials may be made through Henninger-Hinson to the YWCA Domestic Violence Program.
