ENID, OK - Participants at this year’s United Way Golf Tournament, sponsored by Great Plains Bank, will have a chance to win great prizes, show off their skill, have fun and support programs that change lives and saves people in our community and region.
-
The tournament, slated for Monday, July 16th, at Oakwood Country Club & Golf Course, is limited to the first 192 golfers. According to Dana & Barry McDaniel, Golf Committee Co-Chairs for the United Way of Enid & Northwest Oklahoma, “the tournament has been at capacity for many years, so we decided to add an additional tee off time. Teams are accommodated on a first-come, first-serve basis, so we encourage golfers to get their signup forms in as soon as possible.”
-
This is the fifth year participants have had the opportunity to contribute to the Ronna Richards Memorial Fund, with proceeds benefitting community health and education initiatives. Participants can donate during the registration process and during the day of the tournament.
-
“This is the fifth time in nineteen years Ronna has not been part of our annual tournament. Her passion for United Way and love of this tournament is felt by all who knew her,” Dan Schiedel, CEO of United Way of Enid and NW Oklahoma said.
-
“We have an incredibly generous community; many who have BIG hearts that care”, said Schiedel. “I don’t think people play in our tournament because of the prizes; they play because it’s an enjoyable day and they know they are helping to make a tremendous impact in our community through health, education, and income initiatives that make a positive difference in thousands of lives.”
-
“Last year, our United Way partner agencies reported performing over 1 MILLION units of service to those most in need. Every person who contributes can take pride in knowing their United Way dollars are continually at work helping others,” stated Schiedel.
