Funeral services for David Harold “Harold” Choate, Sr., 85, Enid, will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Stittsworth Memory Chapel. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Hillsdale Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.
Harold was born on January 29, 1931 in Enid, Oklahoma, the son of Golden Willis and Jewell Nettie Edwards Choate, and passed away peacefully on December 22, 2016 in Enid. He was a lifelong Enid resident except for six months when he lived in Woodward, two months in Perry and two months in Cherokee. He was the owner and operator of Choate House Moving, a company he ran for 20 years. Harold is survived by daughters, Cecelia Ann Holt, Dorothy Jayne Stokes, Diana Lynn Robbins and Sherry Yvonne Haughton, all of Enid; son, David “Little Harold” Choate of Enid; 12 grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren; one sister, Judy Marie Harmon of Enid.
Harold was preceded in passing by his parents, brothers, Richard and Eugene,sister, Jerry, one granddaughter, Mycyla and one great-granddaughter, Madison. Remembrances may be shared online at www.stittsworthfuneralservices.com.
