Daniel Joseph Weingartner, 69, resident of Enid, Oklahoma passed away Monday, January 9, 2017.
Danny was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma, on June 11, 1947. Danny grew up in Tonkawa and Lamont, and graduated from Lamont High School. Danny moved to Enid with his wife, Sally Weingartner, in 1979, and resided there until his passing.
Danny was drafted in the Army during the Vietnam War and served honorably, earning a Purple Heart and four Bronze Stars, including one for Valor.
Danny worked for the City of Ponca City and retired after 22 years of service. After his retirement, Danny kept busy with part-time jobs, first at Walmart and then Atwoods.
Danny enjoyed riding his motorcycles, tending to his roses, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sally Ailey Weingartner; his children, Eric Weingartner, Whitney Weingartner, and Mathew Weingartner; and his grandson Cayden Bishop Weingartner.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 12, 2016, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in IOOF Cemetery in Tonkawa at 2:30 PM.
