The Mass of Christian Burial for Daniel “Dan” Warnecker, age 71, will be at 9:00 A.M. Friday, August 5, 2016, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, with Father Aaron Foshee officiating. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery.
Dan was born to August and Dolores DeLea Warnecker on September 16, 1944, in Baltimore, Maryland, and passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016, at his home in Enid.
Dan grew up in Baltimore, and graduated from Mount Saint Joseph High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Altus, where he met Gay. They married after his discharge from the service, and made their home in Enid. Dan worked at Farmland and then Koch. He married Tammy Hess on November 2, 2002, in Enid. Dan retired in 2010, and enjoyed lawn care, fishing , neighbors, and his family. He was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church.
Dan is survived by Tammy; his mother Dolores Warnecker of Enid; children: Darren(Shannon) Warnecker of Wichita, Shandel Warnecker of Enid, and Heather Parrish (Patrick) of Enid; nine grandchildren , Mason, Logan, Ashlyn, Jeramy, Kaylie, Britnie, Laney (his special sidekick), Georgia, and Kody; ten great-grandchildren; brother August Warnecker (Carol) of Pennsylvania; and sister Gerri Smith (Clyde) of Florida; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, first wife Gay, and stepson Kody.
Memorials may be made to Bennie’s Barn or St. Gregory Church.
